This website developed when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda. I was determined not to spend two years eating rice and beans and wanted to document my journey with food and cuisine in Uganda. Now that I’m back in the States, I’m continuing to cook my favorite foods and experiment with new (to me) flavors.
In the summer of 2012, I was diagnosed with various food allergies, including wheat and soy. Since then, this blog has been gluten-free and soy-free.
I’m a little bit kooky, a little bit old fashioned. I’m totally awkward and that’s ok. I have one kitty, one camera, and a serious love of food.
